Amanogawa Diner
A diner that only exists between one train’s last stop and the first stop of the next.
Our first original series: a diner that opens for exactly the hour between the last train of the night and the first train of the morning, and the strangers who end up talking there. Almost the entire show runs on twos — the calm pacing is deliberate, and the few cuts we spent on ones are all reaction shots, held for one extra beat longer than the storyboard called for, because the timing read better slow.
Twelve episodes, twelve different regular customers. No episode has a real climax in the action sense; the closest thing the show has to a sakuga cut is episode 9, where a character finally says what they came in to say, animated entirely through held eye-contact and one long exhale.
